having trouble marking more than two penguins

  Hi, can someone tell me where I am going wrong. in the picture - HC500 Hyperfire taken on 2012-12-25 at 2pm you can see there are many penguins yet I can only mark two of them. I am following the instruction at the right hand side of the picture but it is only letting me mark two.

  PLEASE HELP.

  When mine did that after a load of penguins I switched from adult to chick and back and it started working again.
