Mark penguins near a greyed out area or not?

Hi Science folks/other Mods,
If there are distant penguins near a greyed-out area border, should they be marked?

Yes, definitely mark everything which is on the boarder, doesn't matter whether it is the border between the lighter and shaded area or the margin of the frame. Just mark every animal even when you can see just its tail/foot/etc..

It's a seal for sure.. Sometimes it's there, sometimes not.. always different size and shape. APZ0001mul

Those penguins in the distance are close to the zone where no markings are possible. Should we count or omit them?

Yes, please. Do mark every animal even those on the border. Just click in the center of its visible part. Thanks for the question!
