Penguin Watch Talk

"i cant tell" or "no animals present"?

  • Hidrihime by Hidrihime

if the camera is engulfed in snow like this, is it "i cant tell" or "there are no penguins"; does "there are no penguins" imply none in the image, or none in the area?

Good questions. First, any completely obscured image like this one would be marked. "I can't tell" since we cannot see what may be present. If an image is partially obscured, please mark any visible animals/humans/vessel, then use "There are too many penguins..." to include the obscured sections. Similarly, when there are many penguins or distant penguins tto small to mark, end with "There are too many...".

Second, "There are no animals/penguins" applies to the visible area shown by the photo.

You will find the FAQ section very helpful and interesting. Please do read and follow the protocol there. Thank you and welcome! 😃
