Rating confidence in count data

Looks like quite a challenge to distinguish adults vs. chicks in poor light conditions. One must get an eye for this with practice, but do you have a way to rate uncertainty about counts for each image?

Hi,
Distinguishing chicks of King penguins is not as difficult since they're completely brown, but after few hundreds of chicks you get better in recognizing them for each species:).
Anyway, when you're not sure, it's always better to mark the penguin as an adult. Each image is classified by several users so the scientists get the most probable results in the end.
Hope that answers your question.
Thanks for your hard work!Zuzi

To further answer your question ZooniLar, each image is annotated by several users. We then cluster the data so that each "click" is summed up by one X, Y coordinate (for each penguin individual). We then compare this X,Y coordinate to data that has been annotated directly by a penguin expert. Make sense?
