Classify as Chicks or Adults

There a far too many to count in this photo but in the foreground there are a few molting. The ones that are fully molted would still be classified as chicks or are they considered adult now.

Hi.

Good question. I'll ask the scientists what they prefer, but as for the King penguins, I mark the ones still having some brown feathers as chicks since you can be sure that they're not just moulting adults (in comparison to other species where you cannot be sure - at the other species I mark the moulting ones as chicks only when they don't have the signs of maturity yet).

I see what you mean yshish. 😃 When i use the long address I can press 'control and +' to increase the size of that picture enormously.

Of course there is still a limit of increase because of the resolution of the original. 😃 But I don't know if you can do that on your

Yes, I know the possibilities, it just doesn't help when the DPI is that low. Don't worry, it's much better than no screen! 😃
