Headed back from feeding?

Are these penguins headed back from feeding, or headed out to feed? Or looking for a nesting site?

That is a very hard question. At this time the pairs are getting together and starting to sort out nesting. I see some sitting in pairs. But I doubt that we could tell if the group milling around on the beach are on their way to fish, or just back from feeding. Sadly I can't track the previous or following photos to see what they they have been doing during the day.

Thank you! It would be interesting to be able to flip backward and forward in time, wouldn't it?

I'll find out if that is possible. I've done so many that I have a collection of pictures of just about every site!
