Interesting foreign object on Gentoo's back

Iltis found this image and asked about the odd yellow object. Any ideas? I'm searching related photos in the sequence.

General conclusion is that it's an especially wonderful example of penguin poo -shooting from the tail feathers (barely visible to the right of the dramatic streak of poo) to a neighbour's back.

Hard to say- guano is harsh on the feather waterproofing. We've seen it land on backs and on faces which would certainly annoy us-

but we're not penguins. 😄 They are used to copious amounts of the stuff flying everywhere from birth to death.

In photos with poo landing on a neighbor who appeared annoyed, I suspect it was the territorial invasion not the nastiness of the poo.

interesting way of living together! I indeed would be annoyed by anyone pooping on me - and invading my territory!

I think it's the way the one adjacent is gazing at it. I was going to say impassively, but Penguins don't have a vast range of expressions!
