It seems that one penguin has two chicks, is that common?

Hi Alli,
That is a great observation and a good question to ask!
Most penguin species you can see in this data set (all but King penguins) lay two eggs, although not at once. These are Gentoos. Their first egg is laid a few days before the second egg. Not all chicks survive, but you can usually see two of them in each nest.
Anyway, if you think that you see only one there, mark only one. Even when you know there are supposed to be two!
