two species sharing a nesting site?

Is this unusual? I did a double take!

Not at all. We have several multi species sites under observation. It isn't really so much sharing the same nesting site as it is two different species who nest in the general vicinity- some will wind up near the others. In this case, there are more Gentoos off to the side, just as there are other Adelies off camera. 😃 Discussed in the FAQs: FAQ - 4th AL: Breeding cycles, mating behavior, mixed colonies, site locations

Thanks! This is interesting and not what I expected. Thanks for replying and I hope that the classifying is helpful.
