Buried penguin

I have never seen a penguin so buried in the snow. Do they normally do that?

They don't burrow into snow as such. When frequent snows blow in, penguins hunker down. They are well insulated with their own body fat, feathers, and the snow.

Hi Babyballerina,
They do get covered in snow at times. They don't set out to do that, it just happens when they are lying down and the weather gets nasty. They are so well insulated that you can see the snow does not melt on them. In fact the snow might help to stop the almost incessant wind from ruffling their feathers 😃
