Nesting

Most of these look to be nesting but I don't see any visible eggs in the photo,

That's correct, so you would only mark the adult penguins. Eggs left in view are vulnerable to predators, so they are usually kept safely under their parents. This rookery we have nicknamed Egg Rock though, because we more often see eggs in the nest here than most other sites on PW. (We don't mark broken eggs or eggs out of the nest.)
