  Why are they so fare awae

  Hi zanowlin0825,
  Most of the chicks are now grown up, it is mid March, so they will all have gone fishing for their own food, along with the older adults. A few weeks earlier you would have seen lots of penguins here, mostly older chicks still waiting for their parents to bring them their dinners. But now they are all heading off to feed, although a few are left scattered around the hillside, or down on the beach (perhaps having a wash in the sea).

  You will see more pictures of this place at various times of year - so you will see lots of penguins much closer.
