What are the adult penguin doing in this picture? Hatching babies?

Yes, @Evensun, these Gentoo penguin adults are brooding eggs. Look at the penguin right of centre with white belly showing, and you can see an egg near its left foot! We only count eggs when we are sure we see them and they are in a nest, so only this one should be marked.
