something wrong with this chick?

  Hi, I'm relatively unfamiliar with the behaviours of chicks however, the chick in the far, middle right of the photo looks as if it may be in distress or possibly deceased. Seems rather isolated from others and the positioning suggests it didn't make it. Can anyone confirm or deny my suspicions?

  Hello,

  It is a good question but luckily, there is no need to worry about the chick. You can see them often lying down at this age, cooling themselves, or just taking a nap after their big lunch.

  Fear not MythrilDelight. That chick is sleeping off its dinner, and chilling out. When it is hot they tend to splay themselves onto the cool rock to literally chill out. You see that some are forming a creche (towards the left of centre). At this point of their development the parents do not have to stand directly with the chick.
