    Hi, @Lilo82 . There are actually no chicks showing here. The Gentoo penguins are still brooding eggs, and any chicks that have hatched would need to be protected under the belly of a parent.

    Perhaps you are thinking of the grey-looking penguin between the two facing us with white bellies showing? That's another adult, splashed with a neighbour's poo, making it look odd.
