    Hi yousefmohamed 😃 It is wonderful that you are looking so carefully at the pictures. Of course we never mark eggs unless we really can see them 😃 Because the eggs have to be kept warm we don't see them very often.

    The date on the picture says 31st August (2016) . This is the end of winter and the start of spring in Antarctica. At this time some penguins do come back to their nesting area (you can see some brown poop on the snow!). However the penguins will not start to settle down to lay eggs until November.

    The penguins that live here are a mixture of Gentoos and Chinstraps.
