Rocks or Penguins?
-
I did not spot any penguins in this picture, but there were some black dots in the distance which looked like rocks. I am not sure whether or not they are penguins...? Any more opinions?

Yes: Sometimes it's very tricky! 😉 When you can't tell if objects are penguins or not, do not mark them. When unsure if there are any animals visible in the photo, please choose "I can't tell" as specified in the FAQ. 😉 I do not see anything I would mark.
It's March, so all the penguins will be moulting. This usually means they move closer to the water's edge. They can't go fishing during moult, so everyone is hungry, and very itchy as new feathers push out the old feathers. As each adult and chick finishes moulting, it will preen, using the oil from a special gland near the tail to waterproof the new plumage, then it will return to sea for a long-awaited hunt for food.
Please do take time to consult the FAQ- it's packed full of good information and helpful protocols. 😃
