Long neck?

  • flairycake by flairycake

So, to me I see a penguin on the right, but the bird on the left, I assume it's a penguin but everytime I've seen a "penguin" look like that in other photos (long slim neck) I always get a little confused as to if it really is a penguin or not? That may be because of my unfamiliarity with penguins, or I may be right with my instincts and it could be a bird who likes chilling with other penguins (though I think this is probably unlikely)?

You are right that the bird with a long neck is not a penguin. It's a cormorant, and when you read FAQ 6 you'll know how to mark it and any other unlisted animal.😉 Cormorants are also fish eaters, so the cormorants nesting here mingle with the nesting penguins. Do please read the FAQ section- linked on every Classification page, on the left side of the Talk comment page ("Recent" or "Discuss", and the first item listed under Discussion boards.

Thank you! (Mark any unlisted animal as Other, then OK- do not select a species. 😃 )
