Penguins in other places

I'm sure we all get interesting pictures of penguins so I thought I'd set up an entry here where those pictures can be posted.

My other Zooniverse project is OldWeather and those volunteers keep a keen eye out for penguin matters for me which is very kind and led to this picture coming to light:

Sadly I could not trace the story of the penguin...but I'll try again sometime 😃

'Thursday Next' on OldWeather kindly sent me a link to a wonderful video of a penguin cake which features a floating spinning penguin...very clever and looks quite tasty 😄 It is posted on Facebook instead of youtube. I hope this doesn't make it too difficult to access because it is an enjoyable cake 😄

TOO COLD for penguins - parts of North America/Canada are in a big freeze. In fact it's too cold for some penguins 😉 😄

Penguins take to the streets of Edinburgh, Scotland...

Dear PenguinWatchers, I received this detail from Greenpeace:

Hundreds of amazing people have taken to the streets dressed as penguins to spread the word about our journey to protect the Antarctic Ocean.

In the UK, they marched on Edinburgh Castle, tap danced outside the National Theatre in London and even flew on a zip wire across the sea in Bournemouth. [1] All to let the UK government know how important it is that we protect the Antarctic and the animals that call it home.

But they need your help to make their message even stronger. Can you help amplify their voices by watching and sharing this video?

You can watch it on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/embed/iL3tv3ojtUw

Thanks to you, MPs have shown their support for protecting the Antarctic in Parliament and on Twitter. [2] We’ve made a lot of progress but we need to keep the pressure on.

With a seat on the Antarctic Ocean Commission, the UK government has the power to help make an Antarctic Ocean Sanctuary a reality. And seeing public support from all of us across the country will help make sure they follow through.

Please help keep the pressure on the government by watching and sharing this video with your family and friends. The more we can show how people care about our opportunity to protect the Antarctic, the more likely our government will keep it high on their political agenda.
