I've seen somewhere that they often create a fence with a single passage with a scale to get their weight (but not sure this is the case)

Wow - that's a neat idea. Thanks for that Heracleumzoo 11. It's good to understand more about it 😃

I think this would be great for the #dailyzoo! Action shot of a real scientist. I think it is an adult - check the head markings 😉

Definitely an adult plumage. Moreover, he's much bigger than all the chicks around.)

Actually the head markings say 'Arne'. It's great when you get so familiar with the animals that you can name them. 😉

To be honest,it looks domesticated,so a name is required here.Never realized before that they can be taught to hold things in their flippers

Great photo and information. Are there 2 chicks I'm the front that didn't make it?

    Posted

  • yshish by yshish moderator, translator

Yes, there are two corpses in the foreground.

    Do we count corpses? #sad

  • AvastMH by AvastMH moderator

They are a sad sight. 😦 We do not count corpses.

    Posted

  • yshish by yshish moderator, translator

We do not count them only when there's no doubt they're dead. Sometimes there are chicks limply lying on the ground however alive..
