  I might just be dirt or poop, but one penguin seems to have a red spot on their chest. Possibly blood?

  No, it's not blood, it's just a blot of "krill-soup" spilled while feeding the chick (that fluffy grey ball between its legs) 😃

  I always thought they are dirty from lying in their dirty nests, covered with poo/mud.. but this is another option 😄

  Yes of course, and that is perhaps more likely here- I was confirming that it isn't blood, but krill dribbles from feeding or poo! 😃
