Yes. That one hatched, but the chicks are kept safe under their mum's or dad's tummies. We don't mark eggs unless they are in the nest and we see them for sure.

So we don't mark those empty eggs? Would be a measure of hatch-date (or unsuccessful breeding if predated).

No please. We are interested in the viable eggs inside nests. The empty egg shells can be seen around nests for weeks.
