  Not sure but think the ones with no white on their heads are chicks. Difficult to identify the adults in the distance, many more chicks.

  Yes, white headflash = adult, for Gentoo penguins. Also notice the chicks have white chins, and white from shoulder down behind the flipper/wing.

  FAQs also ask us to mark as adult any time we can't tell the difference- like the distant birds here. 😃
